Mauser re-introduced the pistols in both .30 luger and 9x19 in 1970, manufacturing them until the mid 1980s, and assembling (and re-assembling) them well into the 1990s.
The 9mm was adopted as a military round because of its increased stopping power, the official introduction was somewhere in 1904.

), the .30 luger versions were being manufactured alongside the 9mm versions from 1904 until the very end (1999).
