1938 S/42 with matching mags.
I purchased this a while back from a family friend. I gave what I thought was a fair price, compared to outrageous estimate they had gotten from a local gun shop.
It belonged to a relative who passed away last year. He didn't bring it back, it was likely acquired by him back in the late '40's or early '50's when he had a "trading post" in Alaska. Everything matches and it shows mostly holster and handling wear.
When the relative passed apparently it was quite a chore to clean out his house. The family knew he had many firearms including the Luger. I was told that after much searching the Luger was found in a garage attic in an old airline flight bag. It was accompanied by two other pistols that were rusted beyond redemption. All the pistols were loaded as well.
Miraculously, in spite of being stored in the holster for years, the Luger was in good condition showing only some minor freckling on the finish.
