Default Peruvian shrimp soup

A pal showed me this recipe a couple decades ago. The story is that Peruvians from the mountains would take back shrimp after they'd sold/traded at the coast.

Saute some garlic, onions, oregano, and basil in oil in a stew pot.
Add potato pieces (skins optional) and enough water to cover, cook the taters.
Add shrimp and peas and some milk and bring to simmer.
Drop in eggs--one per projected serving, drizzling in the whites and being careful not to break the yolks.

How "authentic" this recipe is, I do not know. Some of the ingredients are not germain to earlier period Peru, so who knows? The egg yolks are "good luck" to find in your bowl. It is tasty and satisfying, nonetheless, thought this version would also be enjoyed.
