I don't know the definative answer, but I've seen that large Roman letter "G" on some WW1 small parts (eg. the right side of an unproofed breech block). I've also seen crown over Frankentur letter insprector marks in this same position, so I would therorize that it's either an inspector's mark, or perhaps the inspection of a reworked luger when on the right receiver.
