I would add to the criticism of this article that the annotated photo showing "parts of the Luger" mis-identifies the firing pin guide as the firing pin, and in "Step 13" firing pin removal is described but it is not included in the photo (just the firing pin guide again). An uninformed reader would assume that the firing pin guide is the firing pin.

I also note on "Step 15" that the takedown lever "is pushed out with the finger." Perhaps the ratty-looking S/42 in the photos is missing the retaining spring.

I am not inclined to purchase the "invaluable" book endorsed in the article.
