OK, it's been 48 hours since the C96 receiver/barrel was placed in the...solution...I took it out, washed it off in dish detergent & water, and this is how it looks...(First pic)...
Barrel took the...solution...quite well; a grayish-black color...The receiver didn't take the...solution...very well...I'm thinking about touching that up with cold blue ["44-40"]...

exactly what I was hoping for...But it's better than the bare steel...

Next step is to soak the 'tarnished' magazine, see if anything happens...
