I love Ebay for various personal reasons..as a BUYER.. not as a seller. It is a good barometer and useful as a comparison yes..There are often unrealistic prices asked. Collector to collector is often the best way to aquire specific items and I always look to the Forums first.

One thing to factor in as far as Ebay is concerned..they charge approximately 20% of the final price to the seller when everything is said and done. INCLUDING shipping believe it or not!

There are many hidden variables that exist on Ebay..some positive some negative. I go there everyday to see what might be there but to be honest..I rarely win anything. My concept of what things are worth often butt up against a higher bid or an unrealistic reserve.

Here's an eye opener..I often go to completed items..see what sold, for how much and what didn't. Interesting stuff.
