Re: DDR Lugers
Lonnie, I also own one of these new production DDR PO8 #N1008 with 2 maching magazines in a like new DDR hardshell pig skin holster. This is a true all new production one with unique EG wide TD lever, Toggle pieces only marked with the EG crown/N and also on new barrel dated 653 (june 1953). So far the only reference that I've found published on these, is a couple of photos in Warren Buxton's "The P38 Pistol" Vol 3 pages 10-39 (includes his info on DDr P38s) but interesting reading for those of you with EG reworks and lots of proof info that is applicable to both pistols. I've received Warren's serial number data on the N-series P38s and so far I haven't found any duplicate on an N-series PO8. It's possible that both pistols fall in the same N range of 125 to 150 pistols, that would even make them rarer. I'd welcome any N-prefix serial number data of lugers and P38s that the forum members can provide to resolve this matter. Thanks, Tom h
