I work for the railroad and its a hell of a lot easier to derail a train then that all you need to do is know what you're doing. Find a rail joint and remove the joiner bars, remove about 10 spikes on the inside of the rail, move the rail in toward the center. When the train hits it it will derail guaranteed! Do this at the approach to a bridge and you'll probly take out the bridge at the same time.
You an also undermine the rail bed on one side and when the train hits that it'll roll and cause a hell of a wreck!
