I just returned from the show and competition organized by Antonio and his friends. I will report more about it later, as I am getting ready for our annual Oberndorf Kü-club event as well.
No trouble was spared to make us feel welcome, the food, drinks and company was wonderful and we got to see some very rare Spanish pistols, as well as some of my favorites, a small selection of post war Parabellum pistols.
The shooting range is located in a fantastic looking environment, the rugged Spanish country area. The complex has a 25 meter range, a 50 meter range as well as a 100 meter rifle range. Fellow author Albrecht Simon from Germany held a lecture about Spanish pistols and US collector and author Leonardo Antaris and his wife were also present. Our books were presented as gifts to winners of the competition and it was an honor and a pleasure to be able to present the books to them in person.
The entire experience was excellent, and it is good to see that the Spanish pistol heritage is being protected by an enthusiastic group of collectors and sports shooters. The concept of the competition was interesting: Points were also awarded for the rareness of the pistol with which the competition was shot.
Antonio, thank you again to you and your friends for making this possible!
