Thanks to each and everyone of you for your inputs; you fellas and the rest of the guys on this forum are the nicest, most helpful people I have ever had the good fortune to communicate with.
I have seen Lugers in the past that were locked open for years and thought this would have to have an effect on the mainspring. I have fired the 9mm with Winchester white-box and the 7.65 with Fiocchi and Geco and there were no malfunctions of any kind. Both of my 29/70's have 6" barrels.
