Couple of follow up items on this one.

Revisiting "mismatched test lugers", I just learned that #7018s frame and #6196s receiver are combined and on display at Springfield armory museum. Both guns are verified by individual test reports and valid. I'd sure like to own that mismatch!!!

Also apologies to "Cajun" Mike B. Upon re-reading this thread it appears that I refuted his guesstimate of the auction result. In actuality, Mike guessed several days before me. I was hoping he was right, and only guessed the auction result after bidding surpassed my bid and I looked up in my records what the other mismatching one sold on GB. I'm sure Mike took no offense but I'm certainly no expert on value and didn't want to sound like I was.
