The C&R really comes in handy for internet purchases of antiques like Lugers, Mausers, Mosin Nagants, Lee Enfields, Webleys, etc...

You save on the fee that you have to pay to a FFL dealer to handle the transaction local to you.

With a C&R, the seller can send the pistol, rifle, etc... directly to you.

And as alanint says, there are sometimes discounts with the seller for having one.

Since it is only $30.00, I'd get one...you reap that back on the first internet purchase in which you do not have to get an FFL dealer involved in the shipping.
