1918 DWM Police
Gents,
This thread originally started in the unit marking section (Unit Mark G.K. on 1914 Erfurt...). I had some further questions about the pistol but it was not appropriate to the thread. In order not to overstay my welcome I have moved over here to the novice area since that is precisely what I am. The pistol below is a DWM 1918 that was used for police duty with the Gendarmeriekorps of Hessen (thank you again Don). I know nothing about this group and was wondering if someone could enlighten me on the what, where, and when. There were two mags that are numbered 1 and 2 and are marked Simpson Eagle 6 (thanks Norm). They are apparently Schutzpolizei of Hannover and are so marked. There is also a holster of unknown type or origin. It has no makers marks. The pistol is all matching except for the grips, which do not appear to be marked, and has a broken take down spring. I don’t know exactly what impact is on the value of the gun without the original grips or original mags. If someone could give me a ball park value of this pistol it would be appreciated.
