If the "dot"went all the way through to the chamber/bore there is an outside possibility that it was an ammunition pressure test gun that has the hole brazed shut. I am at a loss to explain the configuration of the gun. It also looks like the front sight barrel band has been added to the oddly configured barrel. A very strange piece priced about $650 too high for a curiosity/parts gun. (I like that left grip though )
