CIRELAW, I found a small card in the case dealing with "Leather Care". No maker's name on it, but the instructions are in English and ITALIAN, so I'd guess that the case is Italian.
I'm also getting two MEC-GAR mags from Gerry with nickle bodies and French walnut caps, like the ones John Martz used on his Lugers. The MAUSER-marked mags in the case do indeed have very stiff springs (and wood caps), but I'll put them away, not for shooting. Nice to see the MAUSER banner marked on the cleaning rod and loading tool as well.
Funny........the rear of the receiver is marked MADE IN GERMANY. The pistol was made in 1979, and Germany unified in 1990, so shouldn't the pistol have been marked Made in WEST Germany, like most items made before unification?
Cheers,
Bill
