The "8.82" is the bore diameter. The "h" is part of the serail number, as you surmized. The gun saw WW1 service, then became the property of the Weimar goverment, (the 1920), then was acepted by the nazi regime. A nice, original pistol with some history.
At $800 you are in the "fair" range of pricing with a pistol with so much finish wear. Still, a nice buy.
