new to me army (imperial/weimar/TR) p08
Hello all,
Recently came into ownership of my personal milsurp collecting holy-grail; Army Luger. Double-date DWM (1916-1920) with imperial and third reich proofs. All external serial numbers match, no number on the wooden magazine bottom which seems to be normal for DWMs (?). Vet bringback (bought it from an older gentleman who bought it from the vet a while back).
Couple questions: there looks like a "882" at the base of the barrel under the serial number. Is that a specific proof? Also, under the serial number on the front of the receiver there is a script "h." That's the only place the letter appears. Is that the letter added to serial numbers after 10K and used here under 10k for some reason? Finally, any info on the waffenampt next to the three imperial marks (I'm not sure what the letters are under the crowns or the letter/number code above the nazi eagle, maybe "NZa3820"?)
There doesn't seem to be any bluing left except on the small parts (safety toggle, take-down lever, mag release), the side plate is a little beat up, but no rust, pitting, or major dings. For 800, how'd I do?
Thanks!
