That depends on the area. In Eastern Kentucky people do not use silencers, but I have seen only one game warden since 1967. In 1963, I was standing on my mother-in-law's porch and there was this guy walking down the fields carrying his catch. (It was not hunting season.) There was a (young) game warden. in his car, who kept stoping and yelling for the guy to come over to the road (to his car).
The terrain was hills, the road, a small creek (with bridges) fields and hills.
The guy never went across the creek and turned uo ino a hollar a little bit down. The I head two more shots from the guy's shotgun. The game warden did not follow him and left.
