Hello Mike,

According to Don Maus in HWIS pages 111-112, this marking is from Schupo command S.D.IV of the Düsseldorf district. The “R” would stand for Revierpolizei (a patrol unit). Eventually the 3rd reviere, with weapon nr. 52. – Nice acquisition, congratulations.
