Hi Frank, This magazine does not look messed with to me, and I think you will have to agree that the odds against a later magazine showing up with the very same serial number and suffix as Russel's gun are very high. Have you considered the possibility that the change from droop eagle/63 to stick eagle/63 inspection marks occurred earlier on magazines than on guns, perhaps much earlier? I own a later gun, a 2nd Variation 1937 S/42 with droop eagle marks, whose matching magazine, like Russel's, is stick eagle marked. Best regards, Norm
