I can't tell much from the photos, but it looks like the back of the breech block has been split away, and the retaining pin is broken off about 1/3 of the way.

The firing pins on newer Lugers (Mauser, etc) had fluted spacing in the front of the outside of the firing pin to prevent this kind of damage. It allowed overpressure gasses to escape rather than blow the retainer off the back of the breech block.
