I think it is an early war officer private purchase that was probably brought back by an enlisted man and turned in with the 1920 amnesty. The circle S and renumbered side plate along with E/6 would indicate late Weimar Suhl rework for military use or reissue. The number on the back of the frame is typical of a pre 1922 Reichswehr provisional marking.

Is the axel pin numbered?
