I'm no expert on the 7.65, but I have discussed this very subject with two gentlemen who are.
They both claimed that the Fiocchi ammo is down loaded for some other Italian pistols that were loaded for it in the distant past.
If it were me, I'd try a box of Winchester through the pistol first to see it that ammo will properly funciton it, as is.
