How would I go about this? Haved the Luger's finished stripped, them send to a engraver 'in the white'? or have it engraved first, then a refinish? Any ideas as to how might do this work would be appreciate any leads on who might do this kind of work.

I just refinished an engraved gun (you can see the result here: http://forums.p38forum.com/forums/vi...p?f=15&t=25117 ), and I would definitely recommend that you strip and polish before the engraving. This gun was in good shape before the engraving, but it was still difficult to strip and polish without damaging the engraving. If your gun has any damage to it (nicks, scratches etc), it might be darn near impossible to polish if it's already engraved.
