Is your Borchadt build going to result in an actual firearm? or just look like a firearm? If it isn't an actual firearm, then you don't need to concern yourself with the BATFE...
IF it is just a full size model, but isn't designed to fire real bullets without harming the device or yourself, then it isn't a firearm.
