Magnified, you can see that the toggle marking is stamped, not engraved or etched. I have a 1906 BUG proofed AE and it is marked just as this one is. Several variations of Lugers, particularly early models, have the two or three digits of the serial number stamped on the receiver recoil lug. The number font on this gun is correct. A few of the numbers appear a bit large, but it may be due to them being stamped rather deeply which will make the numbers larger. If I have any criticism at all, it would be with this apparent large number issue. But on the whole the gun is correct and I think it is genuine.
