Default Re: newer Lugers

Bill,

I just started my hunt for my 1st. shooter luger a month ago.

S/S lugers were made by Mitchell Arms (in the early 1990's but now out-of-business) and well as Stoeger by a firm in Texas called AIMCO.

On the GunAmerica.com web-site NIB units from both seem to sell in the $695 to $ 800 price range. So your $ 200 purchase was pretty good.

I decided to buy a Mauser-Interarms luger made in the 1970-1980's by Mauser with tooling from WWII. NIB units from Mauser from this era (the post-WWII era) can be had in the $ 825 to $ 1000 price range.

Lots of luger experts debate whether such post WWII lugers are the real-deal or not. You can do a Luger Forum message board search under "Mauser Interarms" for the past year to get lots of pros & cons...
