So sad to see any collectable firearm damaged and lost. And never want to see anyone hurt either. I had taken it all apart and looked everyting over making sure springs and all parts were where they should be and working. Although I know malfuntions can happen at any time and I"m not a certified gunsmith. I have WWI rifles I don't shoot with anything but handloads that are loaded down. I will put this one away and keep it all original. I don't want to mess it up or hurt myself either. Thank you Norm for that post.
