Ron, of course, gives the best answer here pertaining to the luger in question. I feel that after reading Goertz & Sturgess's volume II, reading and participating in the mega Forum discussion, that the 1906 luger with crossed rifles on the chamber is indeed a genuine production luger that emanated from the DWM factory with some confused markings on it that may have well even confused the "brains" at DWM. Whether this luger was destined for the Russian military officer as a private purchase or rather to some Bulgarian military unit is where the confusion and debate arises. Of course this will never be finally settled as no actual factory or sales records exist. Read it all and make your own clonclusions.
