Default Grandpa's CZ

Shortly after starting my Luger collection, I took my father to the local range to try the new Luger out. Days later my father gave me a special gift for my recent bday, grandpa's CZ27, that he brought back from WWII. Grandpa is no longer with us, and all I know about the gun is what I have been told from my grandmother. Grandpa served in the 12th armored( Hellcats), 134th Ord Maint Bat, Bat HQ. He did something with electrical maintenance/radio communication..???? radio operator..???? I was told that my grandfather traded smokes for the firearm somewhere in far western Germany or France. I guessing sometime around late 1944 or early 1945, during the 12ths race to the Rhine. Being one of the few 12th armored solders that knew Polish, he was a valued asset in the communication with Polish POW that were liberated in many Germany POW labor camps. After finding one Polish POW laborer with the same family name, he came to find out is was his second cousin he had never meet before. Small world!! The firearm is in the same condition that is was when grandpa brought it back, and it will remain that way. Grandpa might not be around to tell the story anymore, but when I fired it, it started to tell the story all on its own. Thanks, Dad and Grandpa. I cherish it dearly and always will. Enjoy.....
