Hi,

The 8.82 is the barrel gauge in millimeters. It's the measurement from land to land within the barrel.

The good news is that the trigger transfer lever isn't properly installed inside the trigger plate. That's why things won't fire. Someone must have de-activated this to prevent someone (perhaps a child) from firing the gun.

The little round lever swings up and pulls out. Sometimes these are pretty stiff.

There are good diagrams of the Luger on this site.

It does look like the barrel's been off and re-installed for some reason.

Try taking your pictures outdoors in indirect light without the flash. It's hard to gauge the finish from these pictures. I don't see the "Halos" typically found around the barrel serial number, which may indicate it's been refinished.
