Chuckdog - Please post a pic of the broken ejector. I am sure that others may have experienced this malfunction and it would be good to have examples of broken & unbroken to compare.
Sometimes a broken part will look so even that you'd swear it was made that way.
I had an experience back in Motor Transport where a brake booster diaphragm I examined had a perfectly centered 1/8" hole in the center...I asked a Sergeant if it was correct, and he said yes...we had no spares, and the truck was a bear to try to stop without a functioning brake booster...I was skeptical, and took apart a booster on a functioning truck...no hole...I spent the next 19 months as an E3, but it taught me to never trust Sergeants...and to trust my instincts and my own eyes...
