I am finishing a parts Luger that has a hole drilled through the bottom of the breech block in the recessed area under the firing pin hole. I suppose it is for pressure relief to keep a block from being ruined when the guide/firing pin get punched out the back end and the little retention knob on the guide shears out the back end of the block from a high pressure round coming through a punch primer or failed case.
