When you take photographs, get views and closeups of all the externally visible markings.

Don't use a flash as the reflections make it difficult to estimate finish condition.

Take them outdoors in the shade (indirect light) and they should look good.

Use a tripod. Lack of focus or camera shake also make it difficult to judge a Luger.
