Re: No Soda Cans at 100 yds with P-38
Newbie here, lurked for a bit, back into gun
collecting after a long hiatus.
Just picked up my first Luger (model 1900 Commercial,
all matching but very worn on a re-blue, riflings
pretty worn, has obviously had a long and active
shooting life), also an Interarms W. German Police
trade-in P-38.
Have taken them both to the range, in my hands the
Luger shoots a slightly tighter pattern than the
P-38, shot-worn barrel and all. I suspect that it
has something to do with the fact that the Luger
trigger is much more "squeezable" than the P-38.
I actually bought them both to shoot, I've been a
non-shooting collector in my time, and have come to
the conclusion that the community activity of
shooting is more satisfying than hanging iron on
the wall.
That being said, I think I'm looking for another
Luger (aren't we all??), a non-collectable shooter
which feels a bit less "delicate", to be my primary
shooting Luger. The 1900 may be low-rung condition,
but still, I'd rather not break a serial# part.
