Most likely the 16-inch barrel with walnut forestock is of recent manufacture. I have seen a number of them offered for sale to construct a Luger "carbine". The 16-inch barrel length makes it legal to do so, but the wooden stock attaches to the barrel, so the combined weight impairs proper functioning of the gun.
