Let's be clear....It is ENGRAVED Suhl, Germany, not stamped or roll marked. It is also in English. This is not a factory marking in any way.
I agree with Ed. This was most likely a GI's souvenir, (GI's had access to the Soviet zone well through '45 and possibly '46 before the Soviets clamped down). He had the place and time he acquired the pistol engraved upon it. Possibly well after his return to the US.
It was probably reblued at the time of engraving as well.
