I joined the Navy in Feb.'69. My nephew joined in the early '90s. When he came home on Boot leave, he told me that in was like a strict version of Scout Camp.

When he told me that the CC's(Navy DI) weren't allowed to touch anyone I couldn't believe it. One of my "fondest" memories was when an MED Inspector jumped feet first on my back while I was doing 10 count push-ups.
