A Tale of Three Guns-Thor Range Report
I found out three things from firing three different weapons today. I shot Hugh's 1906 Commercial 30 Luger, Tom Norwood's 45 ACP Colt 1911 (an old one), and a Swedish Lahti. The first impression is AGAIN, what a pleasure and joy to shoot the 30 Luger, accurate and a lot of fun and the FIOCCHI Factory ammo still doesnt function them worth a flip, but my reloads were great. The second thing is the LAHTI pistol is a BLAST to fire, I love it and now I WANT ONE! What a great design. Natalie fired it and loved it too! They are a nice weapon! I can see why the Finish Soldiers liked them so much! I hate to see this one go back to it's owner!! The last is this old 45. I shoot a 45 acp H&K Compact a lot and love it, but this old gun had the HARDEST TRIGGER I have ever fired on a hand gun and my hand had to really SHOVE the grip safety to get it to disengage, not fun at all. It was okay in the accuracy department, but I have a REAL problem with a firearm that you CANNOT get a LOADED ROUND out of the chamber without firing it. THE EJECTION PORT IS TO NARROW! What is up with that? I know that Browning was a master designer but that was one bad mistake on the original design! All in all a great experience today and I WANT A LAHTI!!! ~Thor~
