Colt was the only 1911A1 pistol his initials will be found on, but they will also be found on the Winchester M1 Rifle and M1 Carbine, and the Underwood M1 Carbine. His initials indicate that the weapon had passed all ordnance inspections, and was accepted by the US Government by his authority.
