You see more Lugers portrayed as bad guys guns back in the 30's era movies.
I recall one where a undercover guy is joining a mob gang.
They show him a closet full of Lugers to choose from.
He grabs one and sez,"What a honey of a Luger!"
"That one belongs to the boss!" Is the response.
