It has a small import stamping on the right side of the slide close to the front and an even smaller stamp on the left side of the frame just ahead of the grip. The grips are smooth wood with what looks like a bird in a small medalion. It is in excellent condition.

Please post some pics. I'm pretty sure mine is an ex-Argentine Army 45, but my book on 45 variations disappeared, so I have only my memory to go by...which isn't very reliable...
What marking did the BA Police stamp on it???
Mine has black Bakelite grips...
BTW: I bought mine for $250 some years ago...maybe 15 or 20...CRS again...
