Hi all, I am a new member currently living in Germany. I am a collector of German military firearms and have always loved Lugers.
My first Luger I had gotten as a fluke. The US military had changed the rules for soldiers owning private weapons, mirroring the German civilian rules. Owning firearms in Germany is not an easy thing and most soldiers didn't want the hassles. I was lucky enough to be at the armory on day when a contractor was asking what forms he had to fill-out to turn it in for destruction. He told me that I could have it if I could register it.
It is a byf 41 in good shape. It is not matching and has vopo grips but for free it’s a great deal. I have since gotten 2 ppks and a CZ75 for the same price. The only sad thing is I missed 1 Luger that did go to destructions.
