Tom is right about the loads.
For me, I usually shoot a box through them, sometimes two boxes, but that is probably shared. Mine aren't collector pieces and I like to shoot mine, but if they were collector pieces, I would be a bit leery.
Still, they were made as guns to shoot. BUT, there have been several cases in the last couple of months of collector pieces being damaged by firing them...
So, I don't think it matters much if you fire one round or 300, a pistol won't get near as hot as a M-60 (machine gun), yes it'll get warm, but unless you have a huge supply of magazines and pop them in one at a time, ala the US pistol trials...
