Tom, I have no idea. Your theory is as good as any. The back is cut a little differently as well. Just a strange tool I thought would be interesting. If the screwdriver tip is cut to accomodate a fine sight adjusting tool it would take away another useful part of the tool, the screwdriver. Sort of a win lose proposition there. Jerry Burney
