I have used a photo set up and a professinal set up, two biggest things in good photos, lighting and letting your camera take good pictures, tripod and f stop / how long the camera lens stays open (this is what I have been fighting).
So, I have gone around this by lighting mostly. And using a good camera.
Using a camera that takes good close ups inside is pretty important, I used the example cameras at the counter to take a picture of a dime with ambient lighting before I bought the camera.
But, nowadays i use my wifes camera, which is twice as good as the one that I have (although mine is not bad for quick shots).
