Your statement is correct.
This gun could not be imported to CA as it is not a C & R gun and is not on the current approved list of pistols that can be sold in CA. At this time there are no Mauser pistols on the approved list.That is why new guns sold in CA are limited to major gun makers. Not everyone wants to pay to have their guns "tested for safety" by the CA DOJ. A Mauser Parabellum would need a magazine safety and to pass the "drop test",even if someone paid the money for the official test.

I was recently trying to purchase a used Walther PPK/S that was originally designed to be sold in CA,no joy. The current stainless steel version is on the list,but the identical gun in steel is not.
If if I want one bad enough, I have to find a used one already in CA and pay whatever it takes.
