One of the Puerto Rican's that tried to assassinate Harry Truman at Blair House in 1950 was armed with a Luger. It jammed, and he was killed by a Capitol Police Officer.
If I recall correctly, John List the guy who murdered his entire family and managed to hide his identity for 25(?)years. Used 1912 Steyr-Hahn Pistol.
It's also reported that Ty Cobb carried a Luger everywhere he went, up until his death in '61. Even brought it to the hospital where he died. He had it in a paper bag with over a million dollars in cash. In the movie with Tommy Lee Jones, he had an Artillery Luger.
Not a Luger, but my all time favorite is the Dilbert that stole a shotgun from his dad. Sawed the barrels off, robbed a corner Mini-Mart for something like $47. Got caught about 3 hours later, and still his dad's chopped off $3500.00 shotgun in the car.
