Bill,

The best advice that is offered by experienced collectors is to spend the price of a nice Luger on the best books available, and study.

It will be much less expensive in the long run. It can be a great investment / hobby, but it can get ugly in a hurry if you don't know what you are looking at. We've all been there once or twice.
